Pumping Milk

Storing Milk
  • Place pod in refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.
  • Leakproof even when stored on side or upside down
Warming Milk
  • If frozen thaw pod in refrigerator overnight, or put in container of warm water.
  • If in refrigerator, place pod in container of warm water or bottle water for several minutes
  • Milk warms faster in Nurser with pods vs. in regular bottle*

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So simple! I did use them with Spectra pump I bought the pods hoping to eliminate waste and milk transfer and the pods are perfect for that. I use a spectra S2 pump and found that the pods do fit without the adapter if pushed in tight. While they are not technically compatible I have not had a problem using them together if I am careful not to squeeze the pod when detaching it from the pump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storage pods Everyday after work I would come home and transfer my pumped milk into storage bags. I would mark the date, amount of milk, and lay the bag flat in the freezer. Afterward, I would remove the oldest milk from the freezer, thaw the milk, and then pour the milk into bottles for the following day. I would throw away the storage bags and wash all of the bottles I had used that day to pump. Prior to the reusable pods, the amount of waste I produced was significant as each day I would throw away four to six storage bags. The Playtex reusable silicone pods allowed me to remove all of these steps as I was able to pump, store, warm, and feed with the same pod. Initially I was concerned as the breast pump adapters did not fit with the Spectra pump. Fortunately I still had the tubing from my original pump so I was able to pump directly into the pods. Overall the Playtex reusable silicone pod is an excellent product that I would highly recommend. The pods are leak proof, easy to use, and make the entire pumping and storing process easier. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these nursed pods bottles. These pods are the absolute best! The best thing about them is that they’re silicone which makes them reusable and greatly reduces waste. They’re also extremely convenient and so easy to use. They attach right to my pump so that I can pump straight into the silicone pod and then either put the pod directly into the bottle provided or store it directly in the fridge or freezer for later use. Not having to transfer milk to a bag and then back into a bottle saves so much time and hassle! The pods worked great and are very easy to just pop into a bottle. The bottles made the transition from nursing to bottle drinking an easy one. My son had no problem with them at all. I definitely plan to buy several more of the pods so that I can keep plenty of milk in the freezer for use when needed. These are truly amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I've been dreaming of! I HATE plastic bottles, and our daycare doesn't allow glass bottles. Some Background: I've been on the hunt for the life of my two children for a silicone bottle that works. With our first child I used several breast shaped type bottles and they all leaked and were annoying to clean. For our second child, I've been using a similar bottle through a different brand that uses a silicone insert but they take forever to warm up and the silicone inserts cannot function alone without the plastic exoskeleton. I've also looked for affordable silicone breast milk containers and actually bought some expensive ones that don't even completely seal which was HORRIBLE. I imagined these and the next thing I know I was offered this product through the Stellar Review Panel in exchange for a review. What's better than knowing what you want? Finding out it exists! I almost never give something five stars because I want to save the honor for when a product like this comes around. Pumping: I love that with a medela or similar pump I can pump and store directly into the pods (they include an adapter! ahh! so great!). Amazing, and so so easy. Plus I love the shape that it keeps the milk in - you could easily slide it into any bottle even if you don't use their bottles. I can't find if they have a spectra wide pump type adapter yet, but don't think they do. It would be amazing if they included a spectra adaptor, or if the plastic bottles worked with the spectra so you could use the external bottle housing as a pump adapter, but sadly they do not (I tried...). You can buy a third party spectra to medela pump adapter and use a double adapter to make it work with a spectra or similar pump. Nipple shape: It does seem to mimic the human breast and seems great. Baby has no trouble with it. Plastic free: The baby only has contact with silicone parts inside a plastic housing for stability. I can squeeze the insert to get my distractible baby to focus or get that last little bit out; it can also limit air if you eat in one sitting. I hate waste, so I love that this is a reusable alternative to plastic breast milk storage bags, drop in liners and the plastic housing is easy to rinse. Silicone: It is a cloudy silicone in two different thicknesses, meaning you can quickly thaw and warm the milk, but it has stability where you need it. I hate that other clear silicone I have becomes cloudy with washing and so I appreciate it started cloudy so it's not unsightly with time. I like that I can store the pods leak free and not worry about drips from the bottle via the nipple. The plastic cap is hard to get off but it does give me reassurance that if I did need to store it within the bottle it wouldn't leak. Two notes: We haven't tried formula with this. I don't think it would be hard to reconstitute but I can't comment on that at all. I would want a lot of pods, and I do think that could get a little pricey. But if I can buy more of these (assuming my baby is still using the bottle when we leave the house again, as I received during a pandemic) I will replace all the other bottles we have with these. I think I would want probably 3 or 4 bottle shells and 12+ pods, but you could get a lot of mileage out of just one set. I'm so completely obsessed! Thanks Stellar Panel for connecting me to the bottles of my imagination and Playtex for being around forever and still innovating! Adapt for Spectra next, please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient After having my third kid, I am always looking for products to make my life easier while providing the quality care my children need. I received the Playtex Baby Nurser Reusable Silicone Pods for review by Stellar Product Testing Panel and was very surprised they included the ability to pump directly into the pods. That super convenient for me especially having to pump at work. The only negative thing about that aspect is that it doesn't work with all breast pumps. Only a few name brand pumps like Medela. This pod is great for storage whether in the freezer or in the fridge. There are little stickers included in the box to notate dates. It is great on space and made warming the milk even easier for me since I don't have a bottle warmer. Another plus is that the pod itself just drops into the bottle for easier feeding and less nutrients lost in the transfer of storage in the milk. My baby drank from the bottle with no issues and I am fortunate to have been given the opportunity to discover this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So simple to use! I love these! I used the nurser drop ins before getting these and I love the fact that these are reusable. So much more environmentally friendly! Not to mention cost saving. I love that you can pump directly into them and that they are super easy to use. Being able to pump, store, and then feed all from one pod takes so many extra steps out and makes feeding so much more simple! My favorite thing about these is the ability to store in the fridge and warm, which is so much quicker with the silicone, in one pod! I exclusively breast feed and work full time so I pump a lot and hate having to transfer milk. The ability to pump, store, warm and feed all from the same pod AND reuse it is an absolute game changer. The pod fits directly onto my spectra pump without an adapter and warms quickly. They do not leak- even when stored upside down in the fridge! Most surprising is how easily they clean, no tiny brushes needed! I love how they just slide into the bottle, and my (very picky!) baby loves the nipple shape and design. These are one of my new favorite baby products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Idea I really liked this product idea. The ease of storing breastmilk in the same container you will use to feed cuts out so much headache! Since I don’t have an electric pump I used the nurser pods for milk storage. The original intent of the product is to pump directly into the pod to cut out air, so I can’t speak on that. But I did appreciate the silicon pod for storing and being able to thaw said pod without having to transfer milk twice! I could pop the thawed pod right into the bottle and feed from there. It really is a time saver. I appreciate the silicon for its sustainability, not needing to toss bag after bag. I was using glass bottles for milk storage in an attempt to cut down on waste. Great product, wish I could use it for its full intent but I still loved it. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these nurser pods bottles.
