The Ortho-Pro® Pacifier was designed by dentists to allow for proper oral development.
There is a natural gap of 1–2 mm between our upper and lower teeth. In its natural position, the tongue lies in the lower jaw and extends toward the front teeth but doesn’t exert pressure on teeth and gums. The Ortho-Pro® pacifier was developed with this in mind.
Thinner Shaft
In order to minimize the pressure exerted on your baby’s teeth and gums, the Ortho-Pro® pacifier shaft was made as thin as possible (approximately 4mm thick). That is 40% thinner than an ordinary pacifier. This allows the pacifier to fit in the natural gap between the upper and lower teeth and minimize the pressure exerted on both the teeth and the gums.
Unique, Contoured Shape
Ordinary pacifiers can get in the way of your baby’s tongue. So, the tongue pushes on the pacifier’s nipple, putting pressure on the front teeth and affecting the development of those teeth. The Ortho-Pro pacifier has a unique, contoured shape that angles upward toward the roof of the mouth, leaving room for the tongue. The tongue is able it to rest in its natural position, the pressure exerted on the upper and lower jaws is minimized, and the teeth are allowed to develop normally.
